HEARING AIDS

Hearing aids are available only to adults residing within District 2-A2 that are financially within 180% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines as listed each year in the Federal Registry.  A completed hearing aid application and copies of income and expenses are required. 

Individuals eligible to obtain hearing aids through Medicaid or Social Security Insurance (SSI) are NOT eligible to receive hearing aids through the District 2-A2 Hearing Board.  Medicare currently provides hearing tests, but does not provide hearing aids.

Click here for a Hearing Aid Application.  Please note:  This application is for ADULTS only.  The Hearing Board is currently unable to provide this service for children.  The Hearing Board serves the following Texas counties:  Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, LaSalle, Live Oak, Maverick, McMullen, Medina, Real, Uvalde, Val Verde, Webb, Wilson, and Zavalla

HEARING SCREENINGS

When and where possible, the Hearing Board and its volunteers provide hearing screenings (vision screenings in limited locations) to local schools within District 2-A2 when school is in session.  Screenings areas are limited and are based on the availability of certified screeners and equipment.  Contact the Hearing Board Chairman if you are interested in becoming a certified screener.
